 WE-'R'-LIMO, COMPUTERIZED TELECOMMUNICATIONS NETWORK,
LINKS BUSINESS TRAVELERS WITH NATIONWIDE GROUND TRANSPORT
SCARSDALE, N.Y., March 30 /PRNewswire/ -- We-"R"-Limo(TM), a nationwide voice, data and imaging telecommunications network system that will link business passengers and other for-hire ground transport users with local transportation services throughout the continental United States, Canada, Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico, has been announced by S. Robert Perkins, president and CEO of StarMAN, Ltd.
The We-"R"-Limo System, based in Scarsdale, has already aligned local transportation and limousine companies in New York City, Westchester, Dutchess, Orange and Putnam Counties (N.Y.), Dallas and Los Angeles. And, according to Perkins, the company is expanding rapidly and soon expects to have services available in approximately 435 U.S. metropolitan areas served by commercial airlines.
Local users as well as travelers will be able to reserve, obtain and pay for limousine, airport shuttle, bus tours, ambulettes and passenger van services in cities served simply by using the system's toll free phone number, 1-800-WE-R-LIMO. A small service fee may be added to customers' charges. Major credit cards and personal checks are accepted.
The service should prove especially useful for airborne or ground travelers with emergencies, unexpected changes in itineraries and for those unable to find readily available local transportation; businesses wishing to arrange VIP transportation for executives and guests; travel agents, tour packagers and operators, hotel concierges, incentive programmers, executive gift companies, caterers, special events producers, and resort and convention center managers.
"This also marks the first time that businesses which are planning seminars, facilities tours, conferences and other local events will be able to obtain limousines and other ground transportation in distant locations and locally through a single national reservations system," Perkins stated.
The WE-R-LIMO System is an outgrowth of Scarsdale Business Service Bureau, a unit of StarMAN, Ltd., a Delaware Corporation. The Bureau has provided limousine reservations and dispatch services for operators serving the tri-state New York area since 1948. StarMAN, Ltd. acquired the Scarsdale Business Bureau in 1991.
