Coupled with a matching grant matching grant Academia Non-peer-reviewed funding in which a commercial enterprise, foundation, or philanthropy, federal government, contributes a sum of money that 'matches' a financial contribution made by an institution, university or hospital. from WCI and a $25,000 company contribution to relief efforts, WCI presented the American Red Cross American Red Cross: see Red Cross. with a $200,000 check to aid hurricane victims. In addition, WCI provided materials and supplies directly to employees who were impacted by the four major hurricanes that struck Florida. Catherine Armstrong, a director of marketing in Valhalla, N.Y., said the outpouring of support gave her a great sense of pride to be a part of WCI. "So many of my friends at the company felt a need to do something to help the hurricane victims," she said. "The results of this campaign made us all feel like we were lending a hand and making a difference." |
