Currently, there are thousands of procurement The fancy word for "purchasing." The procurement department within an organization manages all the major purchases.  and acquisition sites hosted by Federal agencies, most of which are hot linked. To make this information more easily accessible, womenbiz.gov was created to serve as the flagship of all government women-owned business outreach efforts. It brings together in one site volumes of government information on Federal acquisitions and gives women-owned businesses direct access to the tools and government networks that will enable them to tap into the $190 billion Federal procurement market.

An exclusive feature of the site is a subcontracting opportunities page that maintains directories of prime contracting opportunities for some of the largest procuring Procuring, in general, is the act of acquiring goods or services, usually by contract. It may refer to:
