WB'S Smallville Star John Schneider Teaches For a Day at Local School; Demonstrates Brain Skills Used on ISAT; Celebrates Brain Awareness Week, March 21, 2006.

CHICAGO -- TV Star John Schneider joins renowned educator and author Peter Kline plus a cast of characters from BrainWare(TM) Safari, a new software program, at the Jordan Community School in Rogers Park on March 21st. Schneider and Kline will engage students in learning about cognitive skills and how they enable students to perform on the Illinois Standard Achievement Test (ISAT), as part of Brain Awareness Day.

Developed by Chicago's Learning Enhancement Corporation (LEC), BrainWare Safari puts children aged 6-12 through a "mental workout," developing their underlying learning skills, using clinically-based exercises embedded in a videogame format.

"Every night my youngest daughter Karis and I spend time together with BrainWare Safari. I've never seen anything so obviously advantageous in my life," said Schneider, co-founder of the Children's Miracle Network and known for his role as "Jonathan Kent" on Smallville and "Bo Duke" on The Dukes of Hazzard. "I fully expect BrainWare Safari to revolutionize the way people think. I started seeing results in not only Karis' cognitive skills, but mine too! Immediately!"

Schneider is joined by Peter Kline, educator and author of Why America's Children Can't Think, and characters from the BrainWare Safari program, including Moby Monkey, Billy Bear, Patti Parrot and Jackie Jaguar. Together they will lead Jordan School students through brain exercises. Students will play the part of planets as the "Big Bang" theory is reenacted. This, along with singing brain songs to the tune of childhood favorites will teach lessons relating the ISAT to cognitive skills.

"My daughter improved her thinking and problem-solving skills with BrainWare Safari," added Schneider, spokesperson for LEC. "Each level of the program was more difficult than the last, so as she worked through the program, she got better at remembering the details and transforming them in her mind. I believe that BrainWare Safari can work for all children and will improve the skills that are critical to learning and testing," Schneider said.

LEC has donated a Brain Ware Safari account to every Jordan School student, at a value of $200,000, in honor of Brain Awareness Week. Brain Awareness Day at the Jordan School was designed as an incentive for students to achieve 100% attendance during ISAT testing.

BrainWare Safari strengthens children's ability to process information faster and more effectively by building 41 key cognitive skills, which are the skills most critical to learning, such as attention, thinking, memory, and auditory/visual processing.
