WATER AGENCY READY FOR TOUR TO SACRAMENTO; GROUP REFUSES TO RELEASE COST OF TWO-DAY TRIP.

The Castaic Lake Castaic Lake is a lake on Castaic Creek formed by Castaic Dam, in northwestern Los Angeles County, California, near the town of Castaic. The 323,700 acre foot lake (399,000,000 m³) is the terminus of the West Branch of the California Aqueduct, though some comes from the 154 mi²  Water Agency will pay for 37 people to fly to Sacramento next week and take a two-day bus tour of the State Water Project as part of a community education program.

Among those on the invitation list are business representatives, parents involved in youth sports activities and public officials and their representatives. Three guests will bring their wives - at taxpayer expense.

Kiza Stratton, public relations public relations, activities and policies used to create public interest in a person, idea, product, institution, or business establishment. By its nature, public relations is devoted to serving particular interests by presenting them to the public in the most  consultant for the water agency, said officials tried to select leaders in the community who would share their new knowledge.

Water agency board members were asked to submit names of people they felt would benefit from the experience, board President Bill Cooper has said.

The water agency refused to disclose the full list of those originally invited, including those who refused the offer, despite a Daily News request two weeks ago under the California Public Records Act. The agency also refused to disclose the cost of the trip.

Stratton, who will attend the event, did not return phone calls Thursday. General Manager Bob Sagehorn was out of town and unavailable for comment.

They will stay at the Sacramento Hilton and the Doubletree Hotel in Bakersfield.

This is the second Water Project tour organized by the water agency, which imports, stores and distributes state water for local retailers. The previous tour, in October 1996, included then-state Assembly candidate George Runner, R-Lancaster, and his wife; Valencia High School Valencia High School may refer to:
