WASHINGTON MUTUAL SAVINGS BANK: TWO AMATEUR GOLFERS TO WIN CHANCE TO 'PLAY WITH THE PROS'

PORTLAND, Ore., June 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Washington Mutual Savings Bank today released the following:
While some golfers only dream of playing alongside the likes of Peter Jacobsen, two amateurs will win the chance to "Play with the Pros" this summer at the Washington Mutual Pro-Am of The Fred Meyer Challenge.
Four amateur golfers and one PGA professional constitute a team in the Washington Mutual Pro-Am, which is Sunday, Aug. 22, at the Oregon Golf Club in West Linn, Ore. Amateurs are placed on teams based on their handicaps to make teams as evenly matched as possible. Handicaps range from about 5 to 30.
The Washington Mutual "Play with the Pros" contest is free to enter. Due to the high volume of entries -- more than 6,000 so far -- Washington Mutual has decided to give away two spots in the Pro-Am instead of one. Each spot is worth $4,500.
People may enter the contest through July 16 at any of 109 Washington Mutual or Pacific First Bank locations in Oregon or Southwest Washington. Each branch will draw a semi-finalist, and on July 23, Bob Miller of KEX radio (1190 AM) in Portland will draw the two finalists' names on air and call the winners.
Along with a round of championship golf with a PGA Tour pro, the winners receive VIP admission for two to the three-day Fred Meyer Challenge golf tournament, admission to related events and gifts.
Washington Mutual, the sponsor of this year's Pro-Am of The Fred Meyer Challenge, is the largest consumer bank in the Northwest. On April 9, Washington Mutual acquired Pacific First Bank.
