 FOR FAMILIES VICTIMIZED BY FIRE AT VILLA PLAZA APARTMENTS
 WHAT: Employees of Washington Mutual are sponsoring a holiday dinner for the families victimized by the fire at the Villa Plaza


apartments. Bank employees are donating their time and money to make sure these people are not forgotten during the holidays.
 WHY: Many of the families are without stable housing and face a bleak holiday season. Employees of Washington Mutual wish to help the community by assisting these families through the holidays.
 WHEN: Thursday, Dec. 19, at 6 p.m.
 WHERE: Dunlap Elementary School, 8621 46th S., Seattle
 NEWS OPPORTUNITIES:
 -- Seattle Mayor Norm Rice is scheduled to present a check to the families on behalf of Washington Mutual's Community Involvement Team (COMMIT), the bank's employee volunteer group.
 -- Holiday greeting cards, made by children from Cooper Elementary School, will be presented to the families. Washington Mutual recently launched its One-To-One Tutoring Program at Cooper Elementary School.
 -- Volunteers from COMMIT and the mayor's office will serve the dinners to the families.
 -- Thompson's Point of View, a Capitol Hill restaurant, is handling the cooking responsibilities.
 -- Each family will receive gift baskets and poinsettias from the employees of Washington Mutual.
