WASA wins four new projects in the Garden State.

The New Jersey office of Wank Adams Slavin Associates, LLP (WASA), has been awarded four new projects in the Garden State.

"WASA is pleased to be working closely with various public entities throughout New Jersey," said Howard R. Kronland, director of WASA's New Jersey office. "All of these projects will improve the infrastructure of public facilities, making them more efficient, cost-effective and safe."

The New Jersey Schools Construction Corporation hired WASA to manage the design, engineering and construction of heating plant upgrades and boiler replacements for six schools in the Jersey City School District. The project is intended to reduce maintenance problems and boiler down-time in the facilities, which are outdated and deficient. David Bahar of WASA is the project director. The overall project is being overseen by the New Jersey office of URS Corporation.

The Jersey City schools receiving the upgrades are: PS 5, PS 22, PS 30, PS 37, PS 38, and Dickinson High School. The project is valued at more than $6.2 million.

The New Jersey Water Supply Authority hired WASA for a complex series of actions for its administration building in the Spruce Run/Round Valley Reservoir Complex in Clinton. WASA was retained to replace the facility's 14,000-square-foot roof, as well as to modernize and create a more functional space for maintenance crew lockers, lunchroom and restrooms.

WASA was selected by the Morristown Housing Authority to conduct an engineering condition assessment for eight boiler plants in several buildings within Manhattan Village, Wetmore Towers, the Petrone Building and 29 Ann St.

Finally, WASA is providing architectural services for the renovation and rehabilitation of the Hayes Park East Pool Complex in Newark. The large outdoor family pool facility has deteriorated over the years, including water damage to the exterior brick walls. Despite that, the building has tremendous potential because of its advantageous massing and design. WASA is teaming with Professional Planning & Engineering (PPE), which is providing mechanical, civil, landscape, pool and structural designs.
