 architectural, engineering and historic preservation firm, is playing a leading role in transforming and restoring several historic Big Apple structures into vibrant homes for cultural institutions.

"By restoring these buildings, the city is demonstrating its commitment to the idea that preserving our heritage improves the quality of life in the community," said Pamela Jerome, WASA's director of historic preservation. "Not only does restoration improve the buildings and the surrounding neighborhoods, but it also provides new economic opportunity and enhances tourism."

"We're breathing new life into old buildings," said WASA partner Hazel Ephron. "It's about restoring the fabric of communities. --135th Street Gatehouse: WASA is restoring and renovating The Gatehouse at Aaron Davis Hall Aaron Davis Hall is a Performing Arts Center located in the Harlem neighborhood of New York City. History
Aaron Davis Hall was founded in 1981 and is located on the campus of the City College of New York, between West 133rd and 135th Streets on Convent Avenue. Convent Ave.
 from an obsolete aqueduct distribution point into a thriving performing arts center. The $8.5 million renovation project is being completed under the auspices of NYC's Department of Cultural Affairs and Department of Design and Construction, as well as the not-fur-profit Aaron Davis Hall.

--American Museum of Natural History: This museum, a NYC-designated landmark, consists of 17 interconnected buildings which were constructed between 1874 and 2000.

--Hunterfly Road Houses of Weeksville: WASA designed the restoration of the four historic Hunterfly Road Houses--the only surviving remnants of Wecksville, the first free African-American community in Brooklyn--constructed in the mid-to-late 1800s.

--P.S. 1 Contemporary Art Center/MoMA: WASA is restoring the brick and terra cotta cot·ta

--Jamaica Performing Arts Center: On behalf of Cultural Collaborative Jamaica, WASA designed a 400-seat performance venue in the former First Reformed Dutch Church in Jamaica, Queens.

--Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning: WASA created a master plan for the restoration of this Neo-Renaissance NYC landmark built in 1898, which also features a five-story addition that was built in 1938.
