AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Dec. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- John E. Kerr, president and chief executive officer of Volkswagen of America, Inc. since April 1993, has mutually agreed with the parent Volkswagen AG, of Wolfsburg, Germany, to resign effective Dec. 31, 1993.
Clive B. Warrilow, president of Volkswagen Canada, Inc. since March 1989, will become president and chief executive officer of Volkswagen of America, Inc. while retaining his responsibilities for the Canadian operation. The change is effective Jan. 1, 1994.
Warrilow is a 30-year veteran of Volkswagen operations. Born in London in October 1938, he emigrated to South Africa at the age of 11 and was reared and educated there, first at Grey High School in Port Elizabeth and later at the Graduate School of Business at the University of Cape Town during his VW career.
That career began in March 1963 at Volkswagen of South Africa, Uitenhage, where he served as an accountant. During subsequent years, Warrilow rose through the parts and accessories business to general sales manager for the subsidiary, and in 1979, he was named marketing director and a member of the board of management.
Warrilow was appointed president of Volkswagen Canada on March 1, 1989, a post he continues to hold.
