WARNER-LAMBERT LAUNCHES MAJOR SMOKING CESSATION INITIATIVE; WELLNESS
PROGRAM WILL ASSIST EMPLOYEES IN COPING WITH SMOKING RESTRICTIONS
On Sept. 23, Warner-Lambert will unveil a unique smoking cessation program for employees and their families. As many as 2,000 people are expected to attend the program where a complementary lunch will be served.
The Nicotrol Colleague Program will provide participants with medical advice, a full course of the company's Nicotrol(TM) (nicotine transdermal system) patches if transdermal therapy is recommended, a Smoke Stoppers(R) behavior modification kit, and optional enrollment in Smoke Stoppers group courses -- all for a nominal fee.
The company has also instituted a dedicated on-site facility -- the Nicotrol Center -- staffed by medical professionals and state-of-the-art equipment, which will be available five days a week to participants in the program.
The new Warner-Lambert program reflects the company's understanding of the need to provide guidance to ensure that smoking restrictions ultimately lead to health benefits and job satisfaction rather than resentment. The company hopes that its innovative program will serve as a model for other corporations committed to instituting smoking cessation initiatives for the benefit of their employees.
