WARD'S REPORTS ESTIMATED PRODUCTION

 DETROIT, Feb. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. vehicle producers will assemble an estimated 227,931 cars and trucks this week, according to Ward's Automotive Reports.
 This week's scheduled production is 6.1 percent higher than the prior week's actual output, and 17.7 percent higher than same-week 1992's 193,627, Ward's said.
 The weekly newsletter also reported only one regularly active U.S. vehicle assembly facility -- General Motors Corp.'s Orion, Mich., plant -- is not operating this week due to inventory control.
 Calendar-year 1993 U.S. car and truck assemblies through the end of this week stands at an estimated 1,474,170, 19.9 percent ahead of like- 1992, Ward's said.
 Of the cars and trucks slated for production this week in the United States, General Motors Corp. accounts for 37.4 percent; Ford Motor Co., 32.4 percent; Chrysler Corp., 11.8 percent; Honda of America Mfg. Inc., 3.9 percent; Nissan Motor Mfg. Corp., 3.7 percent; New United Motor Mfg. Inc., 2.8 percent; Toyota Motor Mfg. USA, Inc., 2.2 percent; AutoAlliance International Inc., 2.1 percent; Diamond-Star Motors Corp., 1.2 percent; and Subaru-Isuzu Automotive Inc., 1.1 percent; Navistar International Transportation Corp., 0.6 percent; and other truck manufacturers, 0.8 percent.
