 WARD'S REPORTS ESTIMATED PRODUCTION
 DETROIT, Sept. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Ward's Automotive Reports said

today that U.S. vehicle manufacturers will assemble an estimated 192,098 cars and trucks this week.
This week's scheduled output represents a 24.1-percent uptick from last week's actual build of 154,744, Ward's said. However, last week's output was affected by the across-the-board plant shutdowns on Labor Day, and because some General Motors Corp. plants remained shut due to a parts plant strike that ended the week before.
Also, six regularly active U.S. assembly plants are closed this week due to high dealer stocks, Ward's added.
Calendar year 1992 U.S. production through the end of this week stands at an estimated 6,814,549, 9.5 percent above like-1991's 6,222,462, Ward's said.
Of the cars slated for production this week in the United States, General Motors accounted for 45.2 percent; Ford Motor Co., 24.7 percent; Honda of America Mfg. Inc., 8.5 percent; AutoAlliance International Inc., 4.8 percent; Toyota Motor Mfg. USA Inc., 4.4 percent; Nissan Motor Mfg. Corp., 4.3 percent; Chrysler Corp., 3.8 percent; Diamond-Star Motors Corp., 2.4 percent; Subaru-Isuzu Automotive Inc., 1.1 percent; and New United Motor Mfg. Inc. 0.8 percent.
