 WARD'S REPORTS ESTIMATED PRODUCTION
 DETROIT, April 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Ward's Automotive Reports


announced today that U.S. vehicle manufacturers will build an estimated 216,668 vehicles this week.
 This was the first five-day work week for all plants after two consecutive holiday-shortened periods for the Easter weekend. This week's scheduled output is 18.5 percent higher than last week's actual build of 182,833 vehicles, and 11.8 percent above same-week 1991's tally of 193,801, Ward's said.
 Three regularly active U.S. light-vehicle plants are down this week for inventory reduction or model-year changeover, Ward's said.
 Calendar-year 1992 output through the end of this week broke the 3 million mark, and stands at an estimated 3,187,911, 12.1 percent above like-1991, reported Ward's.
 Of the cars slated for production this week in the United States, General Motors Corp.'s share is 45.3 percent; Ford Motor Co., 23.7 percent; Honda of America Mfg. Inc., 10.0 percent; Chrysler Corp., 7.5 percent; Toyota Motor Mfg. USA Inc., 3.6 percent; New United Motor Mfg. Inc., 3.0 percent; Diamond-Star Motors Corp., 2.5 percent; Nissan Motor Mfg. Corp., 1.8 percent; Mazda Motor Mfg. (USA) Corp., 1.7 percent; and Subaru-Isuzu Automotive Inc., 0.9 percent.
