New enhancements to the user interface parallel the new user interface features in Microsoft Windows 95 to minimize training and support for current RUMBA software users. The interface advancements include a configurable toolbar with tool tips, user menu set-up, mail integration, a new help manager and 3D hotspots.

The newly enhanced RUMBA Router, a high-performance APPC engine, now supports direct connectivity to Novell's NetWare for SAA (Systems Application Architecture) A set of interfaces designed to cross all IBM platforms from PC to mainframe. Introduced by IBM in 1987, SAA includes the Common User Access (CUA), the Common Programming Interface for Communications (CPI-C) and Common Communications  servers.

RUMBA Access/400 also offers PowerSync(TM) for RUMBA, a powerful tool for viewing, analyzing and updating shared and portable files between PCs or PCs and network servers. PowerSync for RUMBA will simplify system administration and management tasks by aiding administrators in distributing software updates.

In addition, RUMBA Access/400 supports batch file transfer The consecutive transmission of two or more files. , giving users the ability to move multiple files between PC and AS/400 systems at prescheduled dates and times. Another new feature in RUMBA Access/400 is its ability to administer multiple AS/400 systems, either local or remote, from a single PC console.

Available in July 1995, the suggested U.S. license fee for RUMBA Access/400 is $400. Through Sept. 30, Wall Data is offering RUMBA Access/400 at an introductory price of $300, and Wall Data is offering current RUMBA for the AS/400 customers a special upgrade price of $99. RUMBA Messenger, RUMBA for Database Access and RUMBA for the Internet are also available separately.
