Tony Girard, IoH President, said: "The competition has gone from strength to strength since Sue took over the reins. Sue has been a horticulture lecturer at the college for 12 years. She has organised the Young Horticulturist of the Year Competition since 2001. She has long-term experience in supporting and enthusing young people; her involvement includes chairing Birkenhead YMCA YMCA in full Young Men's Christian Association Nonsectarian, nonpolitical Christian lay movement that aims to develop high standards of Christian character among its members. , and recently managing a pounds 6m development to help rehabilitate re·ha·bil·i·tate v. 1.
