WALBRO CORPORATION REINSTATES PAYMENT OF DIVIDEND
CASS CITY, Mich., Dec. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- The board of directors of

Walbro Corporation (NASDAQ-NMS: WALB) has declared a fourth-quarter dividend of 10 cents per share, payable Jan. 31, 1992, to stockholders of record Dec. 31, 1991. The dividend will be paid on approximately 6,095,911 shares outstanding.
Walbro paid quarterly dividends of 10 cents per share in 1990, but did not pay a dividend for the first, second or third quarters of 1991.
In announcing the reinstatement of the quarterly dividend, Walbro Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer L.E. Althaver said, "The company has taken a variety of steps in the past year to reduce costs and increase efficiency. These efforts have paid off with favorable results in the second and third quarters, and we now feel that profitability has improved to the point where it is appropriate to pay dividends to our stockholders."
However, the Walbro chief executive expressed concern over economic conditions. "Despite the improvement in Walbro Corporation's performance, the continuing lack of positive signs for the nation's economy suggests the need for continued caution. Therefore, it is important that we maintain efforts throughout the company to reduce overhead and enhance profitability," Althaver said.
