WAL-MART TO OPEN, REMODEL STORES.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. Tuesday announced plans to open, remodel re·mod·el

 or relocate as many as 340 stores next year, including six new stores in California.

The Bentonville, Ark.-based retailer said it would open 40 new discount stores, and 160 to 165 new Supercenters, which combine traditional Wal-Mart discount stores with grocery operations. A spokeswoman for the company said the locations of the California sites haven't been determined yet.

The retailer also said its Sam's Club Sam's Club is a membership-only warehouse club owned and operated by Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. History
The first Sam's Club opened in April 1983 in Midwest City, Oklahoma in the United States.[1]

Sam's Club is named after Sam Walton.
