W.H.O. & six medical publishers launch initiative.The World Health Organization (WHO; Geneva Geneva, canton and city, Switzerland Geneva (jənē`və), Fr. The first stage of the initiative allows for free online access for doctors, researchers and health policy--makers at universities, medical schools, research centers and other public institutions in 70 developing countries to more than 1000 medical journals produced by the six participating publishers. A second stage of the initiative will involve similar access to the journals at reduced charges 1. The smaller of the two propelling charges available for naval guns. 2. The group said the initiative was started because of the increasing cost of annual subscriptions to medical journals, making many journals inaccessible to practitioners in developing countries. The project is expected to last for at least three years. The six publishers include Blackwell, Elsevier Science, Harcourt Worldwide STM (Scanning Tunneling Microscope) A microscope that can image down to the atomic level.
