Vought Annual Food Drive Raises 596,025 Cans.


DALLAS -- Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc. announced today it has raised 596,025 cans for its annual food drive, exceeding the company's 2004 goal of 500,000 cans.

Employees in California, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas and Washington participated in the Vought Can Do! food drive Dec. 7-10. Since this annual drive began 22 years ago, Vought has contributed more than 14 million cans to food banks in local communities.

During the food drive, employees participate in numerous fundraising events -- from food sales, silent auctions, games and raffles to the sale of Can Do! shirts and hats. Voluntary payroll deductions contributed throughout the year adds to the total. Members of Vought's management team joined employees during the week as volunteer cooks and servers.

"This is the first time that our employees in Nashville, Brea and Everett have participated in the company's canned food drive," said Tom Stubbins, Vought vice president of human resources The fancy word for "people."
