Vote for Change Tour Hits the Road; Artists Unified on Reasons to Vote for Change on November 2nd.SEATTLE -- Vote for Change kicks-off an 11-state, 33-city tour Friday, October 1st in Pennsylvania when more than 20 artists take to the stage in six cities simultaneously to get out their vote for change message. "We've got a country that has just veered too far away from basic American values and principles. I really feel this is a crisis in democracy, unlike anything I've quite experienced in my lifetime," said Bruce Springsteen. Vote for Change artists were brought together by a single idea -- the need to make a change in the direction of our country at the federal, state and local levels. The Vote for Change artists assembled a list of reasons why a change of administrations is essential to our nation. These will be handed out to an estimated 280,000 people at the 37 tour stops. The reasons include: --One million jobs lost and counting, the worst record since the Great Depression --1,000 soldiers dead and 7,000 maimed maim tr.v. maimed, maim·ing, maims 1. "Strength and conviction are important only if they are balanced with compassion and wisdom." The Vote for Change tour came out of an informal conversation among a handful of artists on how they could make a difference in this year's elections and beyond. This idea has resulted in a first-of-its-kind endeavor where Vote for Change participating artists will focus their energies on the states where the elections are expected to be the closest.
