VOLVO'S stylish Safety Concept Car (SCC SCC - strongly connected component ) has won Autocar

Autocar is a weekly British automobile magazine published by Haymarket Motoring Publications Ltd.
 magazine's Design Award in the Autocar Awards 2001, plus the Vehicle and Passenger Safety Award in this year's Prince Michael Road Safety Awards.

The SCC is a dynamic coupe with a great design;

revolutionary see-through A-pillars for superior vision, and state-of-the-art technology for improved driving and pedestrian safety and clearly demonstrates Volvo is at the cutting edge of safety developments and modern design.

Autocar said: "The SCC is a thought-provoking and attractive piece of design, " and went on to describe it as, "an aesthetic triumph" and, "a working prototype that demonstrates a number of ground-breaking new safety ideas."

The Volvo SCC also won the Vehicle Driver and Passenger Award and the judges said the SCC's safety features, "put Volvo at the cutting edge of advanced technology in the interests of safer driving, enhanced personal security and improved passive safety for other road users."
