Volvo GM Heavy Truck Corp. to form traffic accident investigation team; first in North American trucking industry.


GREENSBORO, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 27, 1995--Volvo GM Heavy Truck Corp. announced today that it is forming the Volvo Traffic Accident Investigation Team (VTAIT).

This team's objective is to participate in the efforts to prevent and lower the number of traffic accidents, reduce consequences of accidents when they do occur, research safety enhancement potentials and develop recommendations for improving traffic safety related to the trucking industry.

This is the first team of its kind in the North American North American

It is modeled after a team at Volvo Truck Corp. in Gothenburg, Sweden, which has been studying accidents involving Volvo trucks Volvo Trucks (sv: Volvo Lastvagnar), a Swedish truck manufacturer, owned by Volvo, is the World's second largest heavy-duty truck brand. Founded in 1927, in 2006 Volvo Trucks employed about 35,000 people around the world.  for more than 25 years.
