Vollmer Associates.Vollmer Associates has named Joseph E. Cavanagh as director of environmental services for the New Jersey region. In his new position, Cavanagh will lead Vollmer's expansion in the environmental engineering market sector in New Jersey and will provide environmental services support to clients firmwide. Cavanagh has more than 17 years of experience in the environmental remediation field. Prior to joining Vollmer, he served as a senior project manager in the environmental group of a New Jersey consulting engineering firm. Throughout his career, Cavanagh has worked on numerous environmental remediation projects at contaminated sites under CERCLA CERCLA Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (aka SuperFund) , RCRA and the NJDEP technical requirements. He has carried out projects from initial investigations through remedial approach development and implementation. Cavanagh has completed projects for private clients and government agencies, including the New Jersey Department of Transportation The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) maintains the State Highway system in New Jersey. It is headed by the Commissioner of Transportation.
