Volkswagen of America, Inc. and Carbonfund.org Announce Partnership to Offset Carbon Emissions.

Automaker to Offset Carbon Emissions of Projected Consumer Use

WASHINGTON, Aug. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Carbonfund.org today announced a new long-term strategic partnership with Volkswagen of America Volkswagen of America (VWoA) is the U.S. subsidiary of the Volkswagen automobile company in Germany. Formed in April 1955 in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey to standardize dealership service in the United States, it grew to 909 Volkswagen dealers in the United States by 1965 under the , Inc. to make a significant contribution towards the global challenge of climate change. This opportunity will be extended to all members of the Volkswagen community and to everyone who is looking to offset their carbon emissions.

For the first time, visitors to the Volkswagen of America website (http://www.vw.com/) will also be given the carbon footprint calculation of their choice of vehicle, in addition to statistics on fuel efficiency, speed, and price, when they use the "Build a VW" feature.
