Voith Paper gets order from Nordland.

VOITH PAPER GETS ORDER FROM NORDLAND. UPM-Kymmene group member Nordland Papier in Dorpen, Germany has enlisted Voith Paper to deliver machines and services for its PM 2 approach flow screening project. This is the first time Nordland Papier has selected screening technology from Voith, including C-bar screen baskets and MultiFoil rotors. A two-stage screening system in the approach flow with an MSA MultiScreen in the stock feed to the headbox and a MiniSorter in the second stage will replace existing screening equipment. The Voith supply will reduce stock pulsations on entry into the headbox and also avoid problems with depositing. At the same time, Voith will replace the existing headbox pipework and take over responsibility for basic engineering, erection and start-up. The new PM 2 approach flow screening project is scheduled to go on stream this summer.

* Two months earlier than originally planned, on March 17, 2006, SAICA's new PM 10 started up. The first paper with a basis weight of 90 g/m was wound at a speed of 1030 m/min. An automation package as well as erection and commissioning are part of the order, which was awarded in mid-May 2004. PM 10, with a wire width of 8550 mm and a design speed of 1800 m/min, produces corrugating medium and testliner in a basis weight range of 75-145 g/m? from 100 % recycled furnish. The annual output of the machine will be 400,000 metric tons.

* After extending the screening and flotation capacity of the deinking plant at the UPM Schongau mill in Germany three years ago, Voith Paper has been selected to carry out a further capacity increase, this time as part of an upgrade project for the entire mill. Schongau has ordered four EcoCell primary flotation cells for extending pre-flotation. The order also includes three MultiScreen machines with C-bar screen basket and MultiFoil rotor for expanding IC and LC slot screening operations.
