Vodavi exhibits new PC Phone with Caller ID integration at Computer Telephony Expo '95; New CTI product unites the two most essential business tools -- PCs and telephones -- to help businesses provide better service.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 3, 1995--Vodavi Communications Systems will be exhibiting their new Computer Telephone Integration (CTI) product, PC Phone in conjunction with their established Incoming Caller ID functionality on both their STARPLUS and infinite brand digital business telephone systems at Computer Telephony Expo in Dallas, March 7-9, 1995.

The PC Interface telephone has a built-in CTI serial port connection which plugs directly into the PC to migrate the telephone's functions onto the computer, thus enabling users to integrate their telephone and computer activities.

PC Phone software is a Windows(R) based application, which allows the user to process calls, access voice mail and other system features while working in other Windows programs. To access PC Phone to answer an incoming call, the user merely "switches" to it by clicking on the PC Phone icon, which appears on the screen when an incoming call is ringing.

All calls can be answered, placed or transferred with a simple point and click. PC Phone's screen incorporates both the fixed and flexible buttons of the phone, a dial pad, the call status display, a directory window and a dial window.

By integrating with Vodavi's Incoming Caller Identification (ICLID) software, PC Phone can then display the incoming caller's name and phone number on their computer screen, enabling users to provide more effective customer service and prompt call handling. Custom software can then be developed to link this information with a customer database to enable "screen pops."

In addition, by utilizing Vodavi's Call Tracker software, users can have their customer's profile come up which documents their call history at their fingertips -- all before they answer the phone. They can also link this information to various contact management or personal information management software.
