Vodacom South Africa Selects Comverse InSight To Supply Next-Generation Voicemail; Comverse To Replace Competitor's Voicemail System For The Leading South African Mobile Carrier; Comverse ISMSC Also Selected.

(NASDAQ:CMVT), and the world's leading supplier of software and systems enabling network-based multimedia enhanced communication services, today announced that Vodacom, South Africa's largest mobile GSM network operator with a subscriber base of more than 10 million, has selected Comverse InSight(TM) to enable next-generation voicemail services. Vodacom also has chosen Comverse ISMSC (Intelligent Short Message Service Center) to handle SMS voicemail notifications.

InSight's open environment for value-added voice and data (video and multimedia) services -- united by a consistent user interface -- will allow Vodacom to acquire and deploy a rich portfolio of Comverse Total Communication and infotainment services as well as third-party services. The improved efficiencies provided by InSight's next generation IP architecture can translate into faster, cost-effective service deployments.
