Vivid settles suit.


Van Nuys-based adult film studio Vivid Entertainment Group has settled out of court with Ripley Entertainment Created by the success of Ripley's Believe it or Not!, Ripley Entertainment Inc. is a large entertainment and edutainment holding company owned by the Jim Pattison Group. Holdings
  • Great Wolf Lodge: Opened in March 2006 in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
 over the title of Vivid's "Paul Thomas' Believe it or Not" and "Paul Thomas' Believe it or Not 2."

Ripley, which has trademark rights to the "Believe it or Not" slogan, claimed Vivid had illegally used the slogan and sought to stop the use of it by Vivid along with unspecified damages.

Vivid President Steven Hirsch said the company agreed to settle the case out of court due to the potential high cost of defending it.

As part of the settlement, Vivid will stop manufacturing, distributing or selling the two tapes. Both were released in 2001.

Ripley is best known for its comic strip comic strip, combination of cartoon with a story line, laid out in a series of pictorial panels across a page and concerning a continuous character or set of characters, whose thoughts and dialogues are indicated by means of "balloons" containing written speech. , dubbed dub 1
