Under the terms of the agreement, Navigant Consulting will provide utility business process consulting in concert with Vitria and Vitria BusinessWare(R) solutions.

The alliance intends to offer business process solutions that will assist utilities in streamlining operations throughout the enterprise by centralizing business process management and integrating critical applications. These solutions are based on the combined strengths of Vitria BusinessWare and Navigant Consulting's expertise in utility business processes, including outage management, energy trading, job design, crew scheduling, customer care and data warehousing.

Navigant Consulting will develop standard, re-usable functions specifically for the utility industry, including BusinessWare(R) Connectors for typical utility applications such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Distribution Management Systems (DMS). The company also will develop business process models for critical utility activities such as outage management and energy trading.
