Announces New Partnership with AMS
Vitria Technology (Nasdaq:VITR), a leading ebusiness platform provider, today announced a number of new partnerships and products at the TeleManagement Forum's (TM Forum) annual conference, TeleManagement World 2000.
First, Vitria is partnering with an elite group of telecommunications software, equipment, and service providers to demonstrate reference architectures for automated delivery of next generation broadband services. Second, Vitria is announcing a new release of its out-of-the-box ebusiness solution for broadband service providers, BusinessWare for Broadband 2.0. Finally, Vitria and American Management Systems (AMS) will announce Vitria's selection as the business process automation platform component of AMS' Integration Factory offering for operational support system (OSS) integration.
"We are automating the entire `supply chain' of telecommunications service delivery. With over 100 of the world's leading U.S. and international telecommunications as our customers, Vitria has emerged as the de facto standard for OSS integration and business process automation in telco," said JoMei Chang, president and CEO of Vitria. "The new reference architectures, products, and partnerships that we are announcing today underscore this leadership position, and demonstrate our determination to remain the premier platform for automated delivery of next generation telco services."
TM Forum Catalyst Projects
TM Forum Catalyst project demonstrations show how existing software applications can be seamlessly integrated to provide end-to-end automation of key telco business processes. Based on a common implementation architecture, plug-and-play catalyst projects promote interoperable OSS environments, drive standardization, and lower the integration barriers for OSS software applications. Vitria will participate in two TM Forum Catalyst Project demonstrations for broadband service delivery: one for Internet Protocol Virtual Private Networks (IP VPN) services; and one for high-speed DSL-based Internet access.
In the IP VPN catalyst project demonstration led by Dimension Data, Vitria BusinessWare models and automates mission-critical business processes, such as service fulfillment, service assurance, and service billing processes, across a comprehensive suite of best-of-breed OSS software and equipment solutions from multiple vendors. These vendors include Astracon, Cisco Systems, CrossKeys Systems Corporation, Daleen Technologies, Dimension Data, IGS, Portal Software, Sodalia, and Telcordia. As part of the project, the Vitria BusinessWare-based Common Information Model and seven new connectors were developed to enable seamless interoperability between the best-of-breed OSS software components of the architecture. With Vitria's model-driven ebusiness platform, development of the Catalyst Project solution took less than two months.
In a similar catalyst project led by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Vitria, Siebel, Cisco, Sun, Alcatel, Syndesis and other software and equipment providers will demonstrate a similar reference architecture for automating the delivery and management of high-speed Internet access services based on DSL technology.
BusinessWare for Broadband 2.0
Also at TeleManagement World, Vitria will demonstrate BusinessWare for Broadband 2.0, Vitria's proven industry-leading ebusiness solution for broadband service providers. The latest version of the product used by many leading telecommunications companies, this enhanced offering provides an out-of-the-box solution for automating service fulfillment and service assurance processes across best-of-breed applications for order management, provisioning, network management, and customer care. BusinessWare for Broadband dramatically reduces the time and cost of delivering and managing next generation broadband services.
AMS and Vitria will announce that AMS has selected Vitria to provide the integration and business process automation component of their best-of-breed OSS integration offering, Integration Factory. Integration Factory is a major new component of AMS' enterprise automation practice for the communications industry, and is designed to provide efficient and repeatable solutions for best-in-class operational support system (OSS) implementations.
