Vitamins after angioplasty. (Quick Studies).


Angioplasty angioplasty (ăn`jēōplăs'tē), any surgical repair of a blood vessel, especially

balloon angioplasty or percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty, a treatment of coronary artery disease.

 (1,000 micrograms a day), vitamin B-12 (400 micrograms a day), and vitamin B-6 (10 milligrams a day) for six months after their angioplasty.

What to do: If you are scheduled for angioplasty, talk to your doctor about taking these high doses of B-vitamins. (A typical multi has 400 micrograms of folic acid, 6 to 25 micrograms of B-12, and 2 milligrams of B-6.)
