The newest member brings the total number of Emer'gen-C flavors to 10. Like all other Emer'gen-C flavors, each serving of Raspberry contains 1,000 mg (more than 1,600 percent of daily value) of what Alacer refers to as "the real vitamin C vitamin C

They are powders manufactured by reacting ascorbic acid with mineral carbonates in aqueous solutions, venting the carbon dioxide, drying the reaction product, and then milling the dried product to the desired particle .  and 32 mineral complexes.

"We are excited about the addition of Raspberry Emer'gen-C," said Jay Patrick, founder and chief executive officer of Alacer Corp.

"For over 21 years, people across the nation have been using Emer'gen-C as their primary source of 'real vitamin C,' in the form of mineral ascorbates which are known for health benefits that include increased disease resistance, stronger bones, increased energy, longer life and better healing capacity."

Since the product that most people have come to view as vitamin C is an ascorbic acid, it can irritate the kidneys, bladder and intestines. Side effects Side effects

Researchers have found vitamin C in the form of mineral ascorbates can provide all of the health benefits with none of the side effects. Mineral ascorbates are produced naturally by most animals (but not humans), yet when consumed regularly by humans serve as excellent transporters to vitamin C to the more than 70 trillion cells in the body.

Mineral ascorbates are in all Emer'gen-C products. Among other Emer'gen-C flavors include tangerine tangerine: see orange.

When water is added, the ascorbic acid reacts with the mineral carbonates, creating mineral ascorbates. The Foothill Ranch-based Alacer developed and markets Emer'gen-C internationally. The product is sold in many health food outlets (where Alacer holds 45 percent of the vitamin C market sold) as well as drug and grocery stores.

Alacer, founded in 1970 by Jay Patrick, is the world leader in vitamin C innovations. Patrick is 87 years young and continues to work more than 50 hours per week, attributing his energy and longevity to 30 years of taking vitamin C in the form of mineral ascorbates.

In addition to Emer'gen-C, Alacer develops and markets many other products including: Miracle Sports Water(TM), Electromix, Vitastic(R) Health and Beauty Care products and Vita-Pet(TM) supplements. For further information about Alacer and its products, visit the Web site at www.alacer.com.
