Visual Culture and Design.


URSINUS COLLEGE invites applications for a tenure-track assistant or associate professor to enhance the visual literacy of the campus community and create a bridge between the visual arts and the theatre programs. The successful candidate will develop an outreach program that educates the community about the cultural and artistic vision of the Berman Museum of Art, and teaches community members to analyze and interpret non-verbal texts across artistic and academic disciplines. He or she will contribute to the existing programs in the arts and the theatre by teaching courses, such as the visual components of theatre practice and theory, art courses and interdisciplinary core curriculum courses. Taking the lead in creating visual settings for theatre productions will be part of the responsibilities attached to the position. As a practitioner in the arts, the successful candidate is expected to train and supervise undergraduate student projects and maintain an ongoing program of artistic/scholarly activity. MFA or Ph.D. is required and some teaching experience in a college setting is desirable.

URSINUS COLLEGE is a highly selective, independent, co-educational, residential liberal arts college of over 1300 students located about 25 miles northeast of Center City Philadelphia.
