Vistaportal announces VistaView for peer-to-peer visualization and reporting of data for knowledge management.

Project JXTA started as a research project incubated at Sun Microsystems, Inc. under the guidance of Bill Joy and Mike Clary, to address the peer-to-peer space. JXTA is a set of open, peer-to-peer software protocols that allows any connected device to communicate and collaborate. JXTA provides a flexible mechanism to securely communicate, command and control "peers" on the network providing users with better access to content across multiple devices regardless of location.
