ORANGE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--January 17, 1996--VisionShape today announced the acquisition, in a stock transaction, of DECOMP DECOMP Decompilation Techniques Workshop , an imaging tools vendor based in Yorba Linda Yorba Linda (yôr`bə lĭn`də), city (1990 pop. 52,422), Orange co., S Calif., in a region of citrus fruit; inc. 1967. The city has grown tremendously along with the southern California area; its population increased fivefold between , CA.

DECOMP known for its royalty free imaging tools was founded in 1990 by Steven Selnick. ; image decompression; rapid image print; and display scale-to-gray.

The mission of the new division according to Gie de Keyser, President of VisionShape, is to expand and build VisionShape's software business. "Both companies have traditionally sold through integrators, resellers and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  channels and we have many common customers", stated Dan Borrey, Vice-President of Sales & Marketing at VisionShape. "Our two companies have an installed base of several thousand accounts between them, which include most of the major document management vendors" he said. "We are now at a maturing stage in the document management market that requires more products from one vendor to be available. We believe that combining the two companies will allow us to leverage more volume for each company's products, and will enable us to expand our toolkits more effectively than either of us could alone."
