VisionJet(tm) Ltd. of Cambridge, U.K., the company formed last year by Xennia Technology Ltd. of Cambridge, U.K. and Sarnoff Corporation Sarnoff Corporation, with headquarters in Princeton, New Jersey, is the former RCA Laboratories. The headquarters is the site of the development of color television, CMOS technology, electron microscopy, and many other important technologies since the cornerstone was laid just  of Princeton, NJ, U.S.A., today released the "Genie," the world's first laser-based testing system for inkjet printheads. Announced at the International Conference on Digital Printing Technologies in Orlando, FL, the new product can help manufacturers create better inkjet printers.

"The challenge in inkjet design is understanding the interaction of heads and inks," said Alan Hudd, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Xennia. "The VisionJet Genie is the only system that can give designers accurate data on droplet shape, size, and volume by measuring the performance of real ink with an actual working inkhead.

"It even shows how many 'satellites' are associated with each droplet," he said. "Genie is the tool inkjet designers have been looking for Looking for

"The VisionJet Genie represents a quantum leap in the capability to gather error or quality control information, and it fits on a desktop."

In addition to the laser-based Genie desktop testing product, VisionJet offers a diagnostic service that uses X-ray microtomography techniques to see inside an operating printhead. VisionJet will continue to offer Sarnoff's microstructural analysis services.

Upgrades, New Products on Horizon

Genie is software-upgradable. VisionJet plans to offer upgrades during the product's lifecycle that will give it even more information analysis capability.

Genie is the first hardware product from VisionJet, the Xennia/Sarnoff partnership announced last year. System prices range from $75,000 to $100,000, depending upon the configuration and support required for various inkjet heads. The company continues to develop new tools to serve the industry.
