Viragen Inc. (NASDAQ/NMS:VRGN VRGN Virtual Reality Games Network ) Monday announced that Fred D. Hirt, president and chief executive officer of Mount Sinai Medical Center, Miami Beach, Fla., has been elected to its board of directors.

Hirt has had a distinguished 20 year career as a senior executive in the healthcare industry, including serving as a consultant to several federal and local governmental healthcare agencies. He is also an accomplished lecturer, commentator and author on healthcare topics.
