Vipers aim to go out in style at Arena; ICE HOCKEY.NEWCASTLE VIPERS The Newcastle Mobilx Vipers are an Ice Hockey club based in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. They are currently members of the Elite Ice Hockey League having previously held membership of the British National League. are determined to make their seasonal farewell to the Metro Radio Metro Radio is an Independent Local Radio station broadcasting to North East England. Its output is principally contemporary pop and dance music. It is owned by EMAP and is part of their Big City Network of stations. Arena next month a weekend to remember, writes ALEX FENTON. The Vipers make their last appearances of the campaign in Newcastle on November 21 and 22 in a double-header against Cardiff Devils and the Sheffield Steelers branded as the "Drive For Five."
Club bosses are hopeful of luring 5,000 fans to each of the weekend's games before the Vipers take up fulltime residence at the Whitley Bay ice rink Whitley Bay Ice Rink is an ice rink in Whitley Bay and is the home of the Whitley Warriors ice hockey team. It is the only permanent ice rink in the north east of England and has a ten-pin bowling centre in the area upstairs. for the rest of 2009/10. The Vipers have teamed up with ncjMedia, Galaxy FM, the Metro Radio Arena and Press Ahead to launch "Drive for Five", a memorable celebration of the North East's ice hockey heritage.
Many schools across the region are already selling tickets for the games, with the Vipers offering all children aged 16 and under free entry when accompanied by an adult.

Vipers' general manager Jamie Longmuir said: "This is a massively important promotion for the club, not only for now but also for the future.
