Vior has also acquired by map designation, mining claims covering 4,142 additional hectares in the vicinity of the 233 hectares acquired from the vendors.

The Potential

The Lac-Edouard Mine produced approximately 400 tonnes of nickel and 200 tonnes of copper from March 1973 to January 1974, from 48,000 tonnes of ore (MRNF: DV-85-08). The surface infrastructure was then totally destroyed by fire and the operators estimated the reconstruction of the milling facilities to be non economical considering the known ore reserves at that time. The village of Lac-Edouard is located 8 kilometres east of the former producer. A power line borders a paved road to the village which boast a CN railroad station and a rail bypass.

Although Vior is mainly focused on the exploration and the development of its Douay gold projects, the Lac-Edouard property reveals a strong potential for a magmatic nickel-copper discovery and therefore fits perfectly within its corporate strategy. During the following months, Vior will do a detailed geo-scientific compilation and perform a VTEM aerial geophysical survey Geophysical survey refers to the systematic collection of geophysical data for spatial studies. Geophysical surveys may use a great variety of sensing instruments, and data may be collected from above or below the Earth's surface or from aerial or marine platforms.  on this newly acquired property.
