, is medical director for quality improvement at The University Hospital and New Jersey Medical School (NJMS NJMS New Jersey Medical School ) in Newark, N.J. Barba first became associated with NJMS as a medical student and earned his medical degree in 1993. Following an internship in oncology and residency in radiation oncology at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, N.J, Barba returned to The University Hospital and completed a second residency in medicine. He was also chief resident at Hackensack University Medical Center Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC) is a 781-bed non-profit, research and teaching hospital located just seven miles west of New York City, in Hackensack, New Jersey, providing tertiary and healthcare needs for northern New Jersey and the New York metropolitan area.  in Hackensack, N.J.
