Viking Components Announces Record Revenue, Grants Employees 20 Million Shares of Stock Options.

Amid Industry Down-Turn, Viking Experiences 15% Growth,

Adds Industry Veterans to Executive Team

Viking Components, one of the world's largest manufacturers of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  and upgrade component technology, announced today that it has granted employees more than 20 million shares of stock options following its second straight year of record revenues.

Despite the extreme price declines in the DRAM chip market, Viking experienced 15 percent revenue growth and finished 2000 with $388 million in revenue.

In addition to achieving record revenues last year, Viking secured numerous strategic partnerships with industry-leading Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), Fortune 100 companies, resellers, and retailers, including Amazon.com, Egghead.com, Insight and CompUSA. Viking finished the year 2000 on market research firm PC Data's list of the top 50 hardware manufacturers in the retail channel and on PC Data's list of the top 25 hardware manufacturers in the mail order channel.

Viking's continued accomplishments and worldwide growth potential has attracted industry veterans to its executive team. Most recently, Viking announced the addition of Michael Keddington as Viking's executive vice president of sales and marketing, Don Anzalone as vice president of purchasing and procurement, and Mike Nubel as vice president of marketing and product management.
