Video Conference - Travel to the End OF the World in A Jiffy

Video conference is a way to establish communication links with people in a group or individually anywhere in the world through simple computer devices and the Internet.

Video conference is a way to establish communication links with people in a group or individually anywhere in the world through simple computer devices and the Internet. An effective video conference can boost your business like nothing else. Online video conference systems are now connecting people in a way that was not possible a decade ago. In fact, it is the Internet that has made this wonderful and convenient technique of communication possible. However, even the most powerful and effective tools work best when you prepare your video conferences in the best way. We will list some essential steps you can take to help guarantee your next video conference to be a great success.

At the outset ensure you that each of your video conference participants have enough bandwidth at their location. There is nothing more annoying than trying to watch a video online when you just don?t have enough bandwidth to get it all in one stream. Similarly if any of the video conference participants does not have enough bandwidth there will be latency delays and they will not be able to enjoy the experience or participate properly in the video conference. The bandwidth that is required varies from system to system and also according to the features you will use during the video conference. Video, audio, screen and application sharing have different bandwidth requirements. So check with your video conference equipment vendor to get the minimum bandwidth requirements and then make sure each of your locations has enough of it.

Then when you have set up the system it is best to test your web cameras to ensure that they are working properly. If video will be used at any of the video conference locations, ensure that the locations have tried and tested their video conference cameras to ensure that everything is working to perfection. All cameras should be tested from within the video or web conferencing system that you will be using. A camera that is working fine in one application may work differently within another system. Check it in advance so that you will not have any surprises on the day of your conference.

Check your sound equipment to see if VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol, the technology that is used to transmit voice files over the internet) is working on all the locations. If VoIP is to be used from within the meeting, ensure that all participants have the right tools needed, whether these tools are microphones, headsets and speakers, they should all be tested in advance. The key to a successful online video conference is preparation, preparation and preparation. The more you prepare and the more you practice, the better your online meetings will be. Now this is not the case with the present day state of the art equipment such as Telepresence or the Tandberg 1000 systems. These just need to be set up once and they are ready to be used any number of times. Using these video conference systems is like turning on a television set at home. It?s that simple.
