ALEXANDRIA, Va. and MARLBOROUGH, Mass. -- Release 3.6 Introduces Increased System Flexibility and Enhanced Auditing Capabilities Enabling Operations Personnel to Achieve Improved Situational Awareness 

VidSys, the leading operations center software company for security, safety, military and transportation organizations, today announced the release of VidShield(TM) 3.6, the latest version of the company's flagship product. With the release of v3.6, VidShield unveils major enhancements including VidShield Maps, new auditing capabilities and increased flexibility for managing equipment from different manufacturers.

VidShield is the management convergence point for physical security and video surveillance networks that enables operations personnel to focus on the management of a situation or event and not the underlying disparate systems and technology. VidShield v.3.6 introduces VidShield Maps, a new feature that enables Emergency Operations Centers (EOCs) to integrate camera locations with maps and building drawings, providing operators with increased ease-of-use and a more accurate reading of each location. It also allows users to locate and drill down on the cameras displaying the video on client PCs or to drag-and-drop the sources onto a large video wall. Additional enhancements include:

-- Implementation of the National Transportation Communications for ITS protocol (NTCIP) support over Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP).

-- Capabilities for traffic control systems to be constructed in a "mixed" environment with equipment from different manufacturers.

-- Enhanced audit trail features enabling the tracking of all administration and user activity on the VidShield Platform.
