Victoria Resource Corporation: High Grade Gold Mineralization Encountered at Mill Canyon Property, Nevada/Victoria Amends Agreement with Newmont.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Victoria Resource Corporation (TSX VENTURE:VIT), a 30% owned affiliate of Bema Gold Corporation, is pleased to announce results from its ongoing drill program on the Mill Canyon Property in Nevada. The property is located adjacent to the old Cortez and Horse Canyon Mines and 1.6 kilometres east of Placer Dome's Cortez Hills gold discovery in the Battle Mountain Gold Trend.

Drilling has intersected a 355 metre wide intense alteration and mineralized zone 265 metres vertically below surface in hole OC-36. The mineralized intercept is located in a new target area, known as the RJR zone, 820 metres south east of the Open Cut zone where Victoria announced high grade drill results in early 2004 (see press release dated: 02/26/04). Significant results from OC-36 include 10.4 grams per tonne gold over 26 metres. The hole is still being drilled and preliminary assays have been received down to 677 metres. (i) preliminary assays

The intense altered zone starts at approximately 375 metres down hole and extends to 730 metres. The intercept defines a tabular zone that is open in all directions and is believed to be north-south trending and dipping steeply to the southwest. The zone is characterized at the surface by a large decalcified zone about 360 metres wide and about 600 metres long. These intercepts are currently considered to be approximately 90% of true width based on structural measurements down hole. Further drilling will verify or modify this interpretation.

Drilling continues at the RJR zone where a step-out deep drill program has been designed to test approximately 600 metres of strike length and the up-dip portions of this new mineralized zone. The main targets within the strike length of the zone are intersection zones defined by intersecting north-south and north-west structural and mineralized systems.

Drill hole OC-36 was drilled while geological interpretation work was being completed to define deeper targets at the Open Cut zone below the high-grade gold mineralization encountered in the first several holes drilled in early 2004. Severe weather and the lack of drill permitting delayed step out drilling at Open Cut however drilling in now scheduled to begin in July.

Drill core is logged, photographed and cut in half with a diamond saw on site. One half of the HQ diameter core is shipped to BSI-Inspectorate Laboratory in Reno, Nevada. Analysis by BSI Labs includes gold fire assay with atomic absorption (AA) and gold fire assay with gravimetric analysis on all samples grading greater than 3.0 grams per tonne gold. Victoria uses certified control standards, duplicates and coarse field blanks inserted into the sample stream to the lab to monitor lab performance. The qualified person under National Instrument 43-101 is Tom Garagan, P.Geo.

Victoria has entered into an amendment agreement (the "Amendment") with Newmont USA Limited, a subsidiary of Newmont Mining Corporation ("Newmont") (NYSE: NEM), in order to amend certain terms of the transaction announced on January 21, 2003, whereby Victoria acquired the Mill Canyon property. Pursuant to the Amendment, the term for Newmont's election to exercise a joint venture at Mill Canyon has been extended from the original $2 million expenditure requirement by increasing the expenditure amount and extending the exploration time under Victoria's direction to January 1, 2006, or upon completion of $5 million in expenditures, whichever is earlier. Newmont has a one-time back-in right, which is exercisable during the period beginning on January 1, 2006, or upon completion of $5 million in expenditures on the property by Victoria, whichever is earlier, up to the point of delivery of a positive feasibility study by Victoria. Pursuant to this right, Newmont can enter into a joint venture with Victoria and earn a 50% interest in the property by funding all joint venture expenditures up to an amount equal to 250% of the total expenditures made to such election date by Victoria.
