The latest licensing agreement for the SAFE-T-Disc(R) Construction Safety Training System (CSTS CSTS Construction Safety Training System

with 25 years in the construction industry, John Amato, President of the Yukon-based safety services company, took the CSTS program in Alberta and has experienced first-hand the value of the program. "When I decided to open my business, I wanted something solid and proven behind me. That's why I chose to acquire the licensing rights for CSTS," he says.

There is currently very little formal safety training offered in the Yukon and last year alone the industry had two fatalities, according to according to

Amato. His goal is to work with companies to help prevent and reduce accidents on the job sites.

"I know that once the companies here see CSTS they are going to want a piece of this action. The program is so easy to use but it covers all the topics you need to know to work safely. I was very impressed when I took the program," says Amato. The problem with traditional classroom training is that there are always the "noisy guys and the clowns that interrupt," he says.

CSTS is self-paced so the worker can go in and work through the lessons to get to 100% mastery of the material. The average time it takes to cover all the material is four hours, which is much less than it would take a company to send workers to the local college at pre-set class times.

CSTS is a SAFE-T-Disc(R) program created by VMI. It is a highly effective risk management and safety-training solution designed to help construction workers work safer, resulting in fewer job-site accidents and reduced workers' compensation workers' compensation, payment by employers for some part of the cost of injuries, or in some cases of occupational diseases, received by employees in the course of their work.  costs.
