Vet-owned businesses.

I'm a founder and CEO of a service disabled veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB). It's been over four years since Congress and the President mandated the federal government spend 3 percent of the budget on SDVOSBs yet they have not once come even close to meeting the goal. Many veterans listened to government employees and others advocating that they start their own businesses believing they will be successful only to find that reality doesn't meet even their modest expectations. Veterans have risked either all or a significant amount of their personal assets to start SDVOSBs and haven't been awarded even one contract. James T. Slattery, Plattsburgh, NY
