Verve, Inc., a leading software developer of embedded process technology, announced today the release of the Verve Process Editor 2.0, the latest version of the Verve process modeling tool. The driving feature requirements behind the new Process Editor are improved ease-of-use, full XML support and a new extensible architecture.

This second release of the Process Editor includes full cut, copy, paste and undo support; zooming and snap-to-grid; scaleable vector graphics and customizable graphic themes, among other features.

In addition, Process Editor 2.0 provides support for users modeling processes outside the firewall, with an ability to load model files into a running Verve Process Engine via HTTP.

Process Editor 2.0 is a complete re-write of the earlier version of the Verve Process Editor, with a new, extensible architecture that enables customers to further enhance usability in domain-specific applications.

Incorporating the same extensive use of Java Interfaces that the Verve Process Engine is known for, Process Editor 2.0 brings unrivaled customization. As an example, the Property Inspector interface allows software developers to implement their own property inspectors, and thereby give their application a tailored property sheet for the process designer to fill out. Custom themes using the Scalable Vector Graphics format (SVG) are also supported, with both Verve icons and UML icons provided in the initial release.
