Vertebron Inc. Announces the Appointment of Dr. Alexander Vaccaro to its Medical Advisory Council.

STRATFORD, Conn. -- Vertebron, Inc., a privately held U.S. based spinal implant manufacturer, announced today that noted spinal surgeon and innovator Alexander R. Vaccaro, M.D. F.A.C.S. was named to its Medical Advisory Council.

Dr. Vaccaro is Professor of Orthopaedic and Professor of Neurosurgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA where he is also Co-Director of the Regional Spinal Cord Injury Center of Delaware Valley, and Director, Spine Fellowship Program. In addition, Dr. Vaccaro serves as Attending Orthopaedic Surgeon and Co-Director of the Reconstructive Spine Service Rothman Institute at Jefferson.

Dr. Vaccaro has significant expertise in leading and participating in product development and clinical studies involving the treatment of spinal disorders. He has authored over 500 papers published in clinical journals. He is a member of an array of professional organizations, including the Cervical Spine Research Society, Scoliosis Research Society, the American College of Surgeons, the North American Spine Society and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, to name just a few.

Dr. Vaccaro received his medical degree from Georgetown University and completed his surgical internship at Cedars- Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
