According to Barry Wetmore, director of telecommunications at Versant, "Developers of Advanced Intelligent Network (AIN) services are recognizing the need for increased levels of standardization, particularly as it involves interoperability across heterogeneous service creation and management platforms. The IN Forum has identified some key areas for increased technical collaboration and Versant looks forward to participating so that software engineers can accelerate the development and deployment of intelligent network services worldwide."

The IN Forum's mission is to promote the continued growth and acceptance of Intelligent Networks by providing an international forum to address interoperability and management issues related to the implementation of IN technology and applications. The IN Forum and its members will promote and influence international standards; develop and publish IN implementation agreements; encourage interoperability; facilitate application development; identify requirements common to the advancement of IN technology; and provide IN information and educational material.

"By working together, we can create open IN solutions that offer service providers choice and flexibility that make them more competitive.
